Halden & Co. cut their first chair from a single fallen oak on the Akerselva in 2009. The workshop still operates on the same five-man pattern — designer, two joiners, a finisher, an apprentice — and refuses to use particleboard, biscuit joints or particle-glue. Every piece is signed and stamped with the year of design.

Cut from a single billet of European oak, the Halden lounge chair is bench-built over four days. The arms are steam-bent in a single piece; the seat is cane-woven and rests in a 17 mm rebate. Crafted by Halden & Co. in Oslo, Norway.
